Description: Rangoli is a fabulous hand drawing art, originating in the Indian subcontinent, in which patterns are created on the floor using materials such as colours, diyas, flower petals, glitters etc. It is a way to express imagination. The purpose of rangoli is decoration, and it is thought to bring good luck as well. Keeping this in mind, a Rangoli making competition was organized on 30 October, 2021 at Santhome Public School for grades VI to X. The theme for the same was ‘Diwali’. Teachers in-charge co-ordinated with students through online mode like MS Teams and WhatsApp and inspired the students to participate in virtual Rakhi Making competition. The students enthusiastically participated this activity. Registration was done online through MS Forms in which around 250 students registered themselves. The rules and guidelines were posted 7 days prior to students which would help to prepare themselves well for the competition. Children put in lots of efforts and came up with amazing ideas. They made creative and colourful Rangolis to initiate a festive ambience in their homes. They used eco-friendly materials such as, grains, diyas, flowers and coloured sawdust, keeping both, the art form and the tradition, alive. Students participated with great vigour and enthusiasm.
